FACELESS PORTRAITS
A5 cotton watercolour paper, 300gsm
Drawn with alcohol-based markers, this collection explores portraiture through rich colour, texture and bold brown tones, inspired by the different people and personalities we encounter in everyday life.
I chose to keep the portraits faceless, giving the figures a sense of mystery while leaving room for viewers to imagine their own stories, memories and experiences within each piece.
Through continuous sketching and experimentation, I developed my marker technique, building depth through layering, shadows, etching and fine pen highlights that lift the artwork from the paper.
